The provided toiletries were l'occitane branded. breakfast included smoked salmon and eggs benedict. It was served until 9:30 am.
i noticed dust accumulated on the higher shelves in the room.

the breakfast was acceptable nothing special though
my room felt unfinished it lacked a shelf in the shower for toiletries also there was no toilet roll holder next to the toilet it was just a bit inconvenient this reminded me of a strange oversight i had to reach around after using the facilities the hotel is a castle so there are many stairs to negotiate making it unsuitable for people with mobility issues

I found the location really nice and the room lovely. Breakfast was good and I appreciated the reception calling to inform me my room was available for check in a few hours early. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay and the dinner was really good too.
The shampoo and body lotion provided in the room were not quite enough for my needs so I requested additional amenities.

The grounds feature well kept gardens perfect for a walk plus there is ample parking available for all guests. The bar offers a selection of beers and cocktails with comfortable seating and attentive service is provided throughout the premises.

The staff were consistently helpful and friendly plus they ensured a smooth check-in process. The restaurant staff were attentive during dinner and they offered prompt service. The receptionists addressed my queries efficiently and provided useful information.

The room included a comfortable bed and clean bathroom with a rainfall shower. The decor was tasteful and the room size was adequate for a pleasant stay. Fresh towels were provided daily plus the room temperature was easily adjustable.

The dinner was wonderful. the breakfast was great too. It was the best in north yorkshire. the kipper was succulent, and the full english was the best i had on my trip. the grounds and building will stay in my memory.
The staff seemed unhelpful at times. I was like i was being a nuisance.
